Crip Gangs: Rollin 60s NHC Crips

Westside Rollin 60s NeighborHood Crips or RSCs or 60s or R60s is a street gang in the Hyde Park area of South Los Angeles, California.
Sixties is one of the largest gangs with the biggest turf and the most members of any gang in Los Angeles County, California. Sixties have also expanded nationwide to places like New York, Atlanta and North Carolina.

Sixties have been active since the mid-1970s and were originally called "Slauson Boys". The Sixties were the first gang to use the term "Rollin" and often called themselves "Rich Rollin" Sixties due to the low-rider lifestyle adapted by members and the lowrider car shows that would pop up in their hood on Crenshaw Blvd from the late 1980s to early 2000s.

The Sixties were also the first gang to be part of a Crip on Crip rivalry, due to their fued with the Eight Trey Gangstas started in the 1970s. The rivalry was most active in the 1980s and 1990s and it forced all other Crips sets to chose a side, either with the Sixties and the Hoodstas (NHCs) or the Eight Trey's and the Gangstas. The fued is detailed in Eight Trey member Monster Kody's 1993 bestselling book "Monster", although some say many details were added to the story to make the Sixties look bad.

Famous 60 Crips
In the 1980s, the Sixties became the most famous and notorious Crip gang because of some crimes committed by members that constantly made the news. Sixty Crip member Lil Fee made news when he was sentenced to death for the 1993 killing of the family of an NFL player, allegedly targeting the wrong house thinking they were the family of one of his rivals. While on Death Row, Lil Fee allegedly stabbed Crip founder turned community activist Stanley "Tookie" Williams, a scene shown in the movie "Redemption" where Tookie is played by Jamie Foxx.

Rapper Kurupt and DJ Battlecat are two Sixties that rose in the rap game in the 90s, but the most famous 60 and maybe the most famous Crip ever has to be rapper and businessman Nipsey Hussle.

As one of Nipsey's homegirls, I watched his career grow from the beginning. Nipsey began rapping around 2000 and slowly built a music and clothing empire with his hard work, charm and talent. His brand was all about Crenshaw and it was inspired by the Sixty Crips, Crenshaw High school and the lowrider culture of Crenshaw Blvd.

Hussle was tragically killed in his hood in front of his clothing store on Crenshaw and Slauson on March 31, 2019 by a former member of his own gang. Reportedly, Hussle was shot because he was enforcing the "No Snitches Allowed" code Crips live and die by. Hussle's funeral was at LA's biggest venue, the Staples Center, and was attended by stars like LeBron James, Beyonce, Jay Z and Stevie Wonder. Hussle's death inspired thousands of fan tattoos and hundreds of murals around LA and the world.

On April 5, 2019 members of the Rollin Sixties agreed to allow ALL GANGS to come to their hood to honor Nipsey Hussle, resulting in a historic peace walk where known enemies like Eight Trey Gangstas and Bloods members united on Crenshaw and Slauson to pay respects to the slain rapper.
