Crip Gangs: Hoover Crip Gang / Hoover Criminal Gang

Hoovers or Hoovas or HCG is a street gang in Los Angeles, California.
Hoova hood is a long strip along most of Hoover Street, which runs North and South in Los Angeles, plus the surrounding areas. Hoova Gangs include 52 Hoover, 59 Hoover, 74 Hoover, 83 Hoover, 92 Hoover and 94 Hoover.

Hoova was originally created as a Crip gang in 1969 or 1970 around the corners of 92nd and Hoover, when they were also known as the Hoover Groovers. Around 1994, Hoovas decided to stop claiming Crip cuz they were feuding with almost every nearby Crip set, like the Rollin 60s and the East Coast Crips.  This makes Hoovas a complicated Crip gang, cuz they sometimes don't claim Crip, instead of "Hoova Crips" they can also claim "Hoova Criminals". While most gangs claim Crip or Blood killa, Hoovas were the first gang to claim "Anybody Killa" and go against all other gangs except branches of their own.

Some Hoova sets later decided to form alliances with nearby gangs, like the 83 Hoovas and the 83 Gangsta Crips alliance. Hoovas also formed a surprise intergang alliance with Inglewood Family Gangsta Bloods known as "Gangstas Movin and Groovin" in the late 2010s.

In the late 1990s or early 2000s, Hoovas expanded to Texas, mostly Houston. The Hoovas in L.A. had already been wearing blue and orange Houston Astros H hats to represent Hoova, making this a perfect match. Because of their original name, Hoovas Groovers, HCGs mix blue with orange, wearing orange bandanas and using oranges and orange groves as their symbols.
