They were founded in the 1970s making them one of the original Crip gangs. They were originally known as the Harlem Godfathers.
Harlem Rollin Thirty Crips hood has several groups including the Avenues, Denker Park, 35th, 37th, and 39th street. The 35th and 37th Street groups combined in the mid 1990s.
Rollin 30s main rivals are Rollin 20s Bloods and BPS, both located north of OHC hood. There was also a fued with Rollin 40s Crips from around 1996 to 2006 but Harlem 30s get along with most Crip gangs. Harlems are part of the Rollin card but they are not part of the NHC Neighborhood Crip card.
Harlem 30s Crips are technically Treys, so some members might also have alliance with ETG 83 Eight Trey Gangstas Crips. Harlem 30s are also part of an alliance called "30s to the 100s" which includes all Rollin Crip and NHC Crip sets like 30s, 40s, 60s, 90s and 1E11s. Harlems are like GSW 103 Grape Street Watts cuz they both claim Trey hoods but they not Gangstas and they never really chose a side in the 60 versus 83, Hoodstas versus Gangstas fued.
Famous Rollin 30s Crips Rollin 30s Crip member Colton Simpson, published an autobiography about his life as a member of the gang in a book titled, "Inside the Crips". Since the book was published in 2013, Simpson has been sentenced to 126-year prison sentence under California’s three-strikes law.
